Speaker 1 0:00
River Valley, there was three people who gave their lives with Jesus.

Speaker 1 0:11
Responded to Jesus right here, and God is truly doing great work all around. What a joy it is to be a part of what he is doing. Amen, get your Bibles out. Keep your notebooks ready. I see some of you diving down. You can unlock the touch ID, whatever you do or page over, we’re going to go to John four all the way in the New Testament. John four. John four, if you’re ready, say, I’m ready. I’m ready. Maybe, as you get ready here, maybe I’ll ask you this, have you ever been in a conversation with someone and you were not quite on the same wavelength? You know what I’m talking about. You think you’re talking about one thing, but you’re really talking about another thing. Alright, some of you had that conversation this morning already. I don’t know, but have you ever been in any of those conversations you talk about one

Unknown 1:00
thing, and then it’s actually not what you’re

Speaker 1 1:02
talking about. Come on, if you’re married, you got to say, yeah, that’s yeah, you know, if you’re single, you go on that first date,

Unknown 1:09
maybe you met online, you go for that first date.

Speaker 1 1:11
You’re like, we are not vibing here because I’m talking about this. You’re talking about that. They’re thinking, I’m talking about this, and it’s just not that. All right, if you have little kids, if you’re a parent in the room. You know what that’s like. Sometimes they talk about something and we just have no clue what they’re talking about. That happens often, but all of us find ourselves in times like this, where we are talking to someone, they’re saying something, and we just don’t really know what they’re saying and we’re not on the same page. This is kind of what happened in John four. John four, if you’re familiar with this story, this is the story of the woman at the well, the lady at the well, and Jesus talking to her. So we’re going

Unknown 1:57
to read this whole passage today.

Speaker 1 1:59
We’re going to probably just get to verse one to 19, but I’m going to read all the way up

Unknown 2:04
to there. And then in part two,

Speaker 1 2:06
we’ll talk about the second half of this. But are you ready to read together? It’ll be on the screen as well. We’re going to read a big chunk.

Unknown 2:15
And this is in John four, 126,

Unknown 2:19
now, when Jesus learned that the

Unknown 2:20
Pharisees had heard that Jesus was

Speaker 1 2:23
making and baptizing more disciples than John, his predecessor, although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples. He left Judea

Unknown 2:32
and departed again for

Speaker 1 2:34
Galilee, and he had to pass through Samaria. So he came to a town of Samaria called Sekar near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph, Jacob’s well was there so Jesus, weary and tired as he was from his journey, he was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour or noon in the day, a woman from Samaria came to draw water, and

Unknown 3:03
Jesus said to her, give me a drink.

Speaker 1 3:06
For his disciples had gone away at that time into the city to provide food, some a and w, maybe. And the Samaritan said to

Unknown 3:13
him, how

Unknown 3:14
is it that you a Jew

Unknown 3:16
asked for a drink from me a

Speaker 1 3:19
woman of Samaria, for Jews, have no dealings with Samaritans, And Jesus answered her, if you knew the gift of God and who it

Unknown 3:28
is that is saying this to you, give me a drink,

Unknown 3:32
rather ask them, and he would have given

Speaker 1 3:34
you living water. The woman said to him, Sir, sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is so deep. Where do you get that living water from? They’re not in the same wavelength. Here. Are you greater than our father, Jacob. I mean, he gave us this well and drank from it himself, that as as did his sons and his livestock. And Jesus turned to her and said, Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again. But whoever drinks of the water that I will give him, they will never be thirsty again, and the water that I will give will become in him, a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

Unknown 4:20
The woman said to him, Sir, give me this

Speaker 1 4:23
water so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water anymore, still not getting it. Okay? Jesus said to her, Go call your husband and come here. The woman answered him, I have no husband. This should be great turn. Okay. Jesus said to her, yeah, you’re right in saying

Unknown 4:41
you have no husband, for

Speaker 1 4:42
you’ve had five husbands, and the one that you have now is not your husband. So what you have said is true. And the woman said to him, Sir, wow, I now perceive that you are a prophet. We’re going to end up there for today. Let’s pray together, Jesus. Thank you so much that you are speaking to us today, and I thank you so much that today we get to be on the same page with you. And then every time we open up the pages of your word, God that it, I pray that it would jump out to us and that it would speak to us. The Lord, would You minister and change us from the inside out today, Jesus, thank you for being right here with us, that your presence is what changes us. And I just ask that you would

Unknown 5:28
reveal in us something greater about you today.

Speaker 1 5:32
We love you, Jesus, and thank you for your word and that Your Word is true. And we all say, Amen, turns

Unknown 5:41
in that story, okay, it’s

Unknown 5:43
the woman at the well, some of you might be

Speaker 1 5:44
familiar with the story, but we’re going to look at a couple things in that little bit there. If you’re taking notes, the title for today’s message is going to be, well, that’s not what I expected. Okay, that’s not what I expected. So the first thing that we’re going to look at here,

Unknown 6:03
the first couple verses, maybe one to nine.

Speaker 1 6:04
Let’s just look at this. Because in the beginning it said there that Jesus, he had to go to Galilee. Go to Galilee. Now, when Jesus learned the Pharisees had heard that he was making and baptizing more disciples, you have to

Unknown 6:18
realize people were talking trash about Jesus.

Speaker 1 6:21
Okay, you’re not the only one. Okay, Jesus knows what you’re going through. People were the Pharisees were talking trash about Jesus, actually at this point, and he had to leave Judea to go to Galilee. All right, there’s the verse four in this whole passage that’s very, very, very important, because we have to understand how this kind of work. It says that Jesus had to go through Samaria from Judea, which is in the South. He had to go to Galilee up north. Samaria is in the middle of it. And the way that they would usually travel, the Jews from Judea, they would usually go across to the Jordan River. They would go around so that they don’t have to get in contact with Samaritans. Alright, there was a little bit of bad blood there, in a sense, and they didn’t want to come in social contact with Samaritans. And verse four speaks about something so great, because it says that Jesus had to go through Samaria. Jesus was compelled to go through Samaria. It’s not an accident. He chose to go through Samaria. Why? Because he was on assignment from his father. He knew that he had to go through that path in verse four. It comes from the root word day or day, which means it’s a significant necessity known by God and given by God or another way, it says it’s a God ordained mission. That word had Jesus was on assignment ordained by his father to go and meet this woman at the well. It’s a necessity established by the counsel and decree of God for salvation and restoration. That’s where that root word comes from. It is being on assignment from God. And so Jesus had to go through Samaria so he could have taken the other road, which is the normal road to take. But No, Jesus was going to jump through barriers and jump through hoops. Why? Because he knew that he needed to meet someone that day.

Unknown 8:27
And we know it’s going to be a

Speaker 1 8:28
great moment and a great day when God ordained stuff like that, because Jesus shows up and He changes your whole life. And maybe today is that moment for you. Even maybe God brought you here today. Maybe you were led here today. And I just want to say that every single person here right now, you have a meeting with God today, and I hope that your heart is open and willing to get on the same page with what God is

Unknown 8:54
speaking to you right now.

Speaker 1 8:56
I might be speaking words in English language, and it’s like God might be trans, transferring that in something else in your heart. I don’t know what it is, but all I know is that when God speaks in moments that he had planned, great things happen. And I believe that when we gather together, great things like that happen, maybe today is your moment. It wasn’t random. This whole path that Jesus had to go on. It was a divine intentional decision for Jesus to go through Samaria and meet this woman at the well.

Unknown 9:31
There’s so much significance

Unknown 9:33
about the well, and I hope that

Speaker 1 9:35
I get to that today. But Jesus didn’t just find this woman at the well there. He didn’t just find her and looked at her, observe. No, he engaged. He engaged with her. He started speaking to her. He conversed with her, he talked to her. And this was big. This was big because it’s it’s not supposed to happen that way. And so this is what I’m saying. This woman, she got a she had a lot going on that day, because what happened there is not what she expected. That day. She did not expect to see a Jew at the well. That day, nonetheless, she did not expect to see Jesus at the well, but she didn’t quite know who she was going to meet that day. And it’s a big

Unknown 10:19
moment, but it’s not

Unknown 10:21
what she expected.

Speaker 1 10:23
It says that the woman from Samaria came to draw water, and Jesus is standing after well, and Jesus said to her, give me a drink. Give me a drink. And the first thing that I notice here is Jesus says a lot of things to us, but he should have used his manners here, okay, if you learn one thing, Jesus Come on, where’s your manners? Man come please give me a drink. Please give me a drink. Maybe it was just wrongly noted down.

Unknown 10:51
Who knows? He probably

Speaker 1 10:54
he said, Give me a drink. This shows us that Jesus being fully God and fully man. He got thirsty, he got weary, so he had to go to places like this. Yeah, he was compelled by his father, by the Spirit, to go there because he was on assignment. But still, he asked for

Unknown 11:12
something that he needed in that moment.

Speaker 1 11:15
And I just love reading passages like this, where you’re like the creator of H 2o actually needed the thing that he created in that moment, he wanted to drink from the very thing that he made. But it shows us that God can relate to us in this way. Jesus knows what you’re going through. He knows when you’re thirsty. He knows what that’s like to be thirsty. He was tired, just like we are sometimes.

Unknown 11:42
But through this meeting and Jesus talking to her,

Unknown 11:45
asking her this very

Speaker 1 11:46
polite question, please give me some water. Please have some water. It was not the normal thing to do, because in that time, Jews weren’t really talking to Samaritans. So Jesus had to jump through that roof. He had to cross that barrier. Rabbis in that time, teachers of that time, they not talking women in public. And so you have to know this is a significant moment, because Jesus just crossed all those barriers. He just crosses all of it, and this is why it confused her and it caught her by surprise, and this is why it wasn’t the thing that she was expecting. Because he is a teacher and he’s a male and he’s a Jew, and he’s talking to her, she thinks to herself, why is this man talking to me? Why is he talking to me? And maybe today you find yourself in that same spot thinking, why would God speak to me? Dudes ago, we had our Selah service, and we sat here waiting to hear from God in silence, and we’re just wondering. Our whole theme this year is, speak Lord. We’re listening, but maybe you’re still feeling like, why would God speak to me? Why would God speak to me? I just want to tell you that God will go through great lengths just to speak to you. God would go through such great lengths just to meet with you. He will Cross every barrier, every social, gender and racial barrier,

Unknown 13:18
to get to you

Unknown 13:20
and speak to you.

Speaker 1 13:23
This woman wasn’t looking for Jesus, but Jesus was on

Unknown 13:26
assignment to find her that day.

Speaker 1 13:29
What a great God we serve that will go these great lengths just to get to us. So that’s the first part there. Verse Four is kind of what glues it all together there that

Unknown 13:43
Jesus had to go there.

Speaker 1 13:45
It was a moment, a sign by God the Father, that Jesus

Unknown 13:48
had to go there. Then Jesus

Speaker 1 13:50
pushes away all the barriers just to talk to this woman at the well,

Unknown 13:55
so that he can try and

Speaker 1 13:56
get through to her. But now we see that when he asked for a drink, she didn’t really understand what he was saying. Anyone ever felt that you don’t know what Jesus is

Unknown 14:06
saying God? You feel maybe God is

Speaker 1 14:09
speaking to you. Maybe you are someone that knows that God is speaking to you, but you have no clue what he’s saying. And today is one of those days where you can get back on the same page with God. I do believe that God will reveal everything that He speaks to us in a way that we need to hear it. God always connects with us in that way. This is why I’m saying I might be saying something today, but God might be God might be translating that in your heart differently in the way that you need to hear it. And this is evidence here in this story, because as Jesus is asking her about these questions. He’s asking her for a drink. And she said, like she’s giving him a drink. And he’s like, Hey, listen, if you just knew who was in front of you right now, you wouldn’t question that a man wants to ask you for a drink. Here you would receive this gift that is in front of you, the gift, and Jesus is referring to the salvation, the gift of salvation that will come later. It’s a beautiful picture of this. How many times are we at the wells, drawing from the same thing over and over, just like this woman at the well, bringing our buckets to the same well over and over, missing the very gift that’s in front of us, and we keep on going back to the things that keep us thirsty. This is why

Unknown 15:22
Jesus is telling her, Listen, if you

Speaker 1 15:25
we just realize the gift that’s in front of you right now, right now, this gift, if you drink from that water, you’re going to stay thirsty. You’re going to remain thirsty. You’re going to have to come back to that well over and over and over again. You’re going to have to show up. You’re gonna have to open your phone over and over again to get that dopamine hit. It’s not gonna last. Come to me and draw from the living well. And when you do, I will create in you a spring, a well, spring of water. And he’s like talking on such a different level of what this lady is kind of understanding at this point. And I think oftentimes we find ourselves in those spots, and then we just

Unknown 16:07
run away without

Speaker 1 16:09
really leaning in and asking Jesus questions of, what do you mean by this? Maybe you open the Bible and you’re reading the Word of God and it says something about you or about your life, or about who God is, and you’re like, I don’t understand it. And you put it aside and you never think about it again, just because you didn’t get it in that moment. That’s the worst thing we can do. We got to go back and you ask God for the revelation of what he is saying, because he will keep on talking to you. And we see here that Jesus is trying to explain to her. He says, I will give you living water that will never end. And he engages in this conversation with her. And it’s a beautiful moment that we can relate to, because this lady showed up over and over and over again with the same bucket drawn from the same well to quench the thirst that she had, and he knew that she had a thirst in her life, and so he was talking about the water with her, but then it goes on and he’s like, I don’t think we’re on the same page. Let me try something else, because at this point, when Jesus was talking to her, he didn’t offer her physical water. We know that right now. That’s what she still thought in that moment he offered her life transformation. And when you’re talking to someone and you know they’re not getting it, I hope that you can notice that, and then you start engaging with them on a personal level, so that you can connect with them. It’s just the way that we talk to each other. We use stories. We use personal connections. This is why it’s important to have fellowship with one another, so that we can know of these stories, what we’re going through, what are some big wins and some big battles in our lives, so that we can converse with one another. Because the moment we do this, we will get transformation in our lives. And so Jesus goes, he he’s kind of saying, I know your real thirst here, alright, so you’re not water thing, because she was asking, still give me some of that water. I never want to thirst again. But I’m not talking about your physical thirst. He knew her thirst for acceptance and forgiveness, and he was about to deal with the shame that she had in her life, and it shows us there in verse 16 and on, because Jesus takes this conversation, does a 180 with it, and he turns it right away, because he’s like, I need to connect

Unknown 18:32
with this woman before she leaves

Unknown 18:35
and she doubts the love

Speaker 1 18:36
that I’m trying to give to her now. And he starts connecting with her on a personal level, and out of the blue comes this question, well, lady, where’s your husband? Go and call your husband like no one talked about that. I didn’t ask you to speak on that. And it’s like, where did this come from? Jesus wasn’t trying to just change the he wasn’t trying to change the conversation. He was just connecting with her on a real deep cut in her life, because she’s like, I don’t have no husband. He’s like, Yeah, I know you’ve had five and then, how did you know? How did you know? Well, I’m the son of God. You know? I don’t. How did he keep quiet at this point? Also, by the way, at the well, there’s so much in it. How did he not reveal to her that actually, I am your husband, I’m the bridegroom coming back for the bride. And everyone in the future is going to know this. But right in that moment, she didn’t quite get it. But Jesus had to consider on this level, and sometimes God connects with us on that level, and it’s real, and you don’t like it. You don’t like it because God is revealing a sin in your life. Maybe he’s revealing something that you’re struggling with, maybe, and he wants to deal with it, because all over and over and over, you come with the same bucket, trying to draw from the same well. And here’s the thing, Jesus will deal with the bucket, but he also wants to give you living water so that you don’t have to thirst for that water anymore. And he reveals these things, it’s the Holy Spirit’s job to convict us from the inside out. That’s what it means to be changed from the inside out. But we have to

Unknown 20:22
let him in.

Unknown 20:25
We have to let him in

Speaker 1 20:27
and talk to us in this way. And so Jesus is speaking to her on a like, Go call your husband. I don’t have my husband. I don’t have some of you might think that it’s a pretty jerk move from Jesus to go that route. It’s like

Unknown 20:45
not connecting with you. So here, let me

Unknown 20:47
point out the sin and the shame in your

Unknown 20:49
life. Okay,

Unknown 20:51
Jesus did not point

Unknown 20:53
out the shame in her

Unknown 20:54
life, or the

Unknown 20:56
husband thing in her life to shame her.

Unknown 20:59
He was trying to tell her they

Unknown 21:03
I know you. I know you more than you think.

Speaker 1 21:09
I know I get you. I hear you, and I, right now, want to share my love with you. I want to share life with you, and if you can just listen to what I’m saying. And this was him connecting with her. He had to show her how much he loved her, and so we had to connect with her on this point, little did she know that He’s the Son of God. He’s like, how did you know you must be a prophet? Is like, yeah, he was.

Unknown 21:37
But also,

Unknown 21:39
I’m the son of God,

Speaker 1 21:41
John one. One says that in the beginning was the Word. The Word was with the Word was God. He jumped a few verses to verse 14, and it says that that very word became flesh and dwelt among us. This is how Jesus knew about the husbands. This is how he knew this is why he had to travel through Samaria that day to go and tell that woman at that well, about her husband’s to connect with her on this level. Because he is God. He knew it all. He knows it all.

Unknown 22:16
He knows it all

Unknown 22:19
he became. He was the Word,

Unknown 22:21
and that word became flesh, and he

Speaker 1 22:23
dwelt at the well to meet that lady. And the same thing today, God wants to meet you where you’re at. You might come to church over and over every single week trying to fill a bucket that you have there. And you’re like, I don’t know how to connect with the Lord, because I haven’t given my whole life over to Him, and I’m not letting other people speak into my life

Unknown 22:47
that I trust and build relationship

Unknown 22:48
with them. I just come to church because it

Speaker 1 22:50
feels good, and I get a little bit and I go far off. But God is saying I want to meet with you.

Unknown 22:57
I want to meet you at the well,

Speaker 1 22:58
wherever the place is that you constantly bring your buckets to fill you to quench your thirst. Jesus is waiting for you at the well, and he wants to speak to you and he wants to connect with you on that real deep

Unknown 23:11
cut in your life.

Unknown 23:13
It’s not our job to convict

Speaker 1 23:15
each other of our sins and stuff like that. The Bible says that do confess your sins to one another, and he is rightful and just to forgive you of that we help each other through. But man, oh, man, the Holy Spirit will reveal things in you like

Unknown 23:28
no man can Amen,

Speaker 1 23:30
God will work in you. You just got to let him do the work at the well. So this lady, she was not on the same page still at this point in the conversation. And you might go like, how did she not get it? We’re reading this, and right away we know it’s because now we have context of who Jesus is she didn’t get at that point. And way too often do we find ourselves right in front of Jesus and still not understanding him.

Unknown 24:09
Don’t take the time to really find

Speaker 1 24:11
out who he is. We gotta take the time to read the Word of God and spend time we know how it ends. We know as spoiler alert, it’s all in the Bible. You can start reading the Bible anywhere you’re going to know it’s all about Jesus and who he is. So when we read this in John four, we know exactly what he’s talking about, when he’s talking about the living waters, when he’s talking about the things, when he mentions later on in the verses, I am he. I am the one. I am the true Messiah. I’m the husband that you’ve been waiting for. And Jesus reveals so much of what we need to get today in just that passage with the meeting at the well, I think it’s a beautiful moment, and that the word always addresses what we need addressed, and not just the things that we think we need addressed. Is that a great thing about God that you might come to Him in prayer, and you might come to him with things in your life, and it’s like he doesn’t just beat those things. He needs more things in your life, because he addresses the things that you truly need. He knows your real thirst. He knows your real hungers, what you’re yearning for in the moment, the first thing that you wake up in the morning, are you looking for diamonds? Are you going to spend time in His Word?

Unknown 25:23
Sorry? She takes shots at us all the time and announces, here we go.

Speaker 1 25:29
But it’s just a reality. What are the things that we constantly go to? Is it the things of this world? Or are we going to go draw from the well of our father? Because there’s a real transformation that happens at the well. I will end with this part here. This is going to be just part one, because I can’t get into everything here, because there’s a response that, oh, there’s a posture that we take on after a moment of meeting Jesus at the well that this woman had, and next week is PASTOR JOEL. He’s going to be here. And then the week after that, I’ll continue with this meeting, with this message. But there’s a response that rises up in us when we meet Jesus at the well. And there’s such great significance here at the well, this lady thought that she came to the well for water, and that Jesus was asking just for water. Jesus wasn’t after her bucket of water. He was after her heart. And today, Jesus is

Unknown 26:32
not only after the bucket of thing

Unknown 26:35
that you carry with you for constant refilling his heart.

Speaker 1 26:40
And here’s why I can say this, because the well is super significant. I love this. I love love, love this. By the way, the Bible is just so awesome, isn’t it? Amen, so amazing. Here’s the thing. You look at, the Well, what happened in John four you can be reminded of earlier in the Old Testament.

Unknown 26:58
What happened at the well? There’s three instances that I

Speaker 1 27:00
can think of that I looked into again again as I’m prepping this message. And I was reminded by this as well, from a sermon that Pastor Darryl Johnson did in 2018 at a conference that I was at, and he preached on this. And it just blew me away this week, I was reminded of this as well, Genesis. Four, one of the times where we see Rebecca meeting Isaac and they get married after

Unknown 27:31
a meeting at the well,

Unknown 27:33
after a meeting at the well. Then you go on in Genesis 29

Unknown 27:37
Jacob and Rachel.

Speaker 1 27:40
It says that they had a meeting at the well. It lists out the well specifically,

Unknown 27:48
Isaac, Rebecca, Jacob, Rachel.

Speaker 1 27:52
They end up getting married after the meeting at the well. Exodus, two Moses flees to Egypt at this point, and he’s sitting at this well, and there’s a bunch of women all around, and he starts defending this woman, these women, and he ends up marrying one of the women from the well. Can you see that there’s a correlation with God showing up at the well, establishing relationship? You might think that that question about her husband came out of the blue. Jesus was touching on a point saying, hey, there’s a relationship thing that needs to happen here, not in the physical, but at the well, is where marriage happened. Marriages were formed at the well. And when Jesus was referring to that, I don’t know how he kept quiet talking about a husband without saying, hey,

Unknown 28:45
for every living person that’s

Speaker 1 28:46
about that will come in the future, all of us here today, I’m telling you, there’s a husband and a wife, and I am the bridegroom. It’s Jesus saying you have a husband. I’m the bridegroom, and I’m coming back for My Bride, and I need you to meet me at the well to establish relationship. The way we’re going to do it is we’re going to have some real deep cuts. We’re going to have some deep conversations. Why? Because we need to talk about all the things that are keeping you away from me. See this lady dealt with shame, resentment, maybe like having five husbands before,

Unknown 29:26
how diminishing that was to them back in that time,

Speaker 1 29:31
Jesus meets you right where you’re at and after, well, relationship is restored. And what I love about this story is that Jesus didn’t bring that up to shame her, because he doesn’t. It’s not that he doesn’t care about your past, but he’s not gonna give you life based on your past. He gives you life

Unknown 29:49
based on his life that

Speaker 1 29:50
dealt with them has so no matter her shame, no matter her hurt, no matter the things that she dealt with with her past. Jesus showed up, went from Judea straight to Galilee through Samaria, stopped to meet this woman, to say,

Unknown 30:09
your past will not define you.

Speaker 1 30:13
I don’t care about the social, racial and gender issues that there is. I’m going to meet you where you’re at right now. I’m going to speak to you, and you need to listen to me, because I need to deal with some things in your life. Would you listen when Jesus speaks to you like that? Jesus might be speaking to you today. Maybe there’s something as we’re talking through this, as we’re reading through that passage of John four, maybe God is revealing that bucket in your life that hurt, that thing that you constantly go to, big, heavy bucket that you carry with you, you go back to that well that will keep you thirsty over and over again. God wants to deal with that, and the way that he deals with it is establishing relationship. Jesus is not standing at a distance anymore. He says, I know your past, I know your shame, I know your hurt, I know you felt lost. But guess what? I will go through great lengths just to complete with you. That’s exactly what happened here at that moment, Jesus met this woman. He was after her heart that day, trying to get the message of life and salvation to her, saying that regardless of what you’ve been through, I choose you today. You know it’s one of the greatest things that happened to me in 2017 is I made a choice to marry Haley, and that day I made a commitment to say that every single day I will wake up and choose you. That’s what it means. You step into marriage. You say, every single day I choose you. Do you see that what happens at the well? Maybe your well as today, God is mourning these meeting you here today, and he’s saying over you, I choose you. Amen. I chose you back then I chose you that day you fell so short and try to run away from me. And I will choose you tomorrow, when you try and turn a cold shoulder to me, I will choose you over and over and over again, I will go through great lengths. I think we serve such a great God. I think we serve such a faithful God. I think I truly believe that we are the one and only savior that can rescue us from any darkness that we’re in. Thank you, Jesus and the well is a great example of that.

Unknown 32:47
And I’m so thankful that God uses his

Unknown 32:50
word all these things in his Bible,

Unknown 32:53
in the Bible that

Speaker 1 32:54
happens that are also imagery for us that we can hold on to. Because right now, here in Ladner, none of us have to go to a well for water. We just open a tap. But still, we miss these moments. And there’s people out in the world that do have to go to wells, and maybe that imagery maybe connects with them more. So I don’t know what you need today for God to connect with you, but that’s why the way is not on my shoulders today. The weight was on Jesus’s shoulders when he carried the cross and he dealt with that already. Just to connect with you today, amen, in whatever way you need him, amen. And so I hope that you can open up your heart to what he speaks and when He convicts, don’t run away. Do you know, what would have happened if Jesus didn’t go there and talk about this lady’s husband like maybe they would have left the well, and she would have doubted the love that she felt from this man if he didn’t connect with her on that way. Amen, she probably would have doubted who this man was. She would have doubted the love that she felt. I just want to tell you today, don’t doubt the love that you feel from God. Lean into it and just watch your life being transformed when you show up at the well like this. Amen, amen. Amen. I’d love to pray for us.

Unknown 34:15
I’d love to pray for us, and

Speaker 1 34:17
I’m excited for part two of this, because there’s a great response in us that happens when we meet Jesus everywhere. But right now, if there’s any bucket that you are carrying, maybe you have a huge bucket that you keep on going back to the same well over and over. Every time to get your thirst quenched, you run to shopping, you run to social media, you run to your friends, always gossiping because it fills you up. Drop the bucket and let Jesus fill you with His living water. Amen, run towards him. And so Lord, I pray right now that you would reveal to us what these buckets are that we’re carrying in our lives. Lord, I thank you that you speak such a great word that stirs up living water in us, that when we would just take hold of the relationship that you have for us, that connection that you have with us, that when we grab hold of it, God, that we would have

Unknown 35:19
a well spring of living

Unknown 35:21
water in us so

Unknown 35:22
that we don’t have those desires to keep

Unknown 35:24
running back to the same well

Unknown 35:27
over and over and over again.

Unknown 35:31
Lord, I thank you that you’re so

Unknown 35:32
good, that your word is so

Speaker 1 35:34
amazing and showing us that you would go to great lengths to meet you, to meet every single one of us in the way that we need to meet you.

Unknown 35:44
So I thank you Jesus that you’re so true and

Speaker 1 35:47
that you met that woman at the well that day to change her life. And Lord, I thank you right now, because you’re probably meeting some of us here today when you’re standing at the well. Welcome We thank You Jesus that you would go through such great lengths. You would jump over every hurdle just to get to us.

Unknown 36:16
So Lord, we offer our lives to you. We offer our hearts to you.

Speaker 1 36:20
Say, take all that you need and do in us the work that needs to be done. And maybe you’re here today, just as every eye is closed, maybe you’re here, and for the very first time, you find yourself at the well today, and you feel that there’s something in you, but you’ve never taken a step towards relationship with God. The Bible says that through Jesus, he’s the way for us to have relationship with our Creator, and that this imagery of meeting at the well, stepping into relationship all throughout the Bible might be your moment today, when you realize I’ve been living without Jesus, and I cannot do that anymore.

Unknown 37:03
If that’s you today,

Speaker 1 37:06
Revelation, the book of Revelation, at the end of the Bible, it says that Jesus is standing at the doors of your heart, knocking, and if you would just let him in, he will transform your life. And if that’s you today, with every eye closed here, if that’s you, you want to say, I.
