Derek

Comparison !

It’s a wicked thing sometimes. But I had a visit with my neighbour, Derek, he might be a bit older than me!

He has had hip replacement! And it’s popped out of its socket a couple of times thar!

I told him about my bike riding and my new bike! He recalled for me the great rides he had with his brother this past summer – 24 km!!!

Here I’d been settling for my 7.62 km Vanderzalm route!

Well! That was yesterday! Today I went slightly farther!

It’s my Vanderzalm route with a hat on!

Poetically speaking >

6 Even if a man should be detected in some sin, my brothers, the spiritual ones among you should quietly set him back on the right path, not with any feeling of superiority but being yourselves on guard against temptation.

Carry each other’s burdens and so live out the law of Christ. ….

3-4 If a man thinks he is “somebody”, he is deceiving himself, for that very thought proves that he is nobody. Let every man learn to assess properly the value of his own work and he can then be glad when he has done something worth doing without dependence on the approval of others.

Galatians 6:1-4 JB Phillips

6 Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.

Galatians 6:1-5 NIV
