Nobody likes to be manipulated!

In the following two examples that came to mind on this topic, there is evidence of how we, the trusting public, have been duped!

Malcolm Gladwell is a Canadian journalist and author. His podcast, Revisionist History, is all about revisiting events in history that we think we know, and digging to find the whole story, and thereby think through things again. For example the hype in Birmingham episode.

In his book, “Thinking, Fast and Slow”, Daniel Kahneman, amount other things, makes a case for the impact of HOW things are said, as opposed to what’s being said. This is because of our habitual ways of thinking. Our automatic thinking, and our thinking that requires effort. He calls these System 1 and System 2.
