Hope for us all

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.

Romans 1:21

is my verse for Desmond as I pray. The light will come for him, and for me, when I acknowledge the sovereign father, all loving God that always knows exactly what he’s doing and how to get it done.

11 In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

Ephesians 1:11

Ephesians 1:11 folds in nicely there.

If it were a book we were reading, we’d see in the beginning pages the family dynamics we have already talked about – the near physical violence of a brother calling foul early on in the struggle… the reaching out to Grampa for help understanding what to do with a bully for a father… and that Grampa knowing he had no voice in that house… I have taken my regrets to the cross and laid them down with my other “shoulda coulda didn’t” moments… but as a kind of clarity more than comfort.

When Jesus had finished these parables, he moved on from there. Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed. “Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked. “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son? Isn’t his mother’s name Mary, and aren’t his brothers James, Joseph, Simon and Judas? Aren’t all his sisters with us? Where then did this man get all these things?” And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home.” And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

Matthew 13:53-58

But then a moving van can be seen…

And workers walking in and out…

And Andre and Cherish are in town…

And a quiet plea from Desmond to Bear is heard… and God smiles from heaven… and so am I, here below.
