A story about how I put a book into practice.
Each morning we (the transportation department of where I work) make use of this spot to wait for teachers using Skytrain and then our bus. There’s scarce parking right now, Go Team!
There’s not a lot of spots to park a 40 foot bright yellow school bus, and – aways being aware the that the name and phone number of the school is emblazoned on its side – I never cease to DO what I do with that in the for front of my mind.
Today as I got <there> my usual spot, a Taxi was waiting in “my space”
I had no leg to stand on! No rights to assert!
I parked as close as I could, gently… almost where I usually park, but for the taxi, could not entirely do so.
Set my parking brake 💨 jumped out, slowly walked, crouched down to make myself and my demeanour small, he rolled his window down an inch, and the chubby, unshaven, exhausted man behind the wheel
I list these unseen things because a picture says the unspoken things, he was also typing with his thumbs into his outstretched mobile device… there was a visible dismay!
He asked a question with his eyes, and at the same time, a “yeah yeah it’s not rocket science !”
I told him, this is not “my spot” it’s just the best place for my big yellow bus, thank you so much!
He backed away, haha, and I pulled in… we were all dwelling in peace 🙂
Next day he was right back in the same place! I let it go!
