When going through my divorce, especially at the beginning, I needed God’s word to guide me like never before. But it is as doubly difficult in this uncharted territory of divorce.
There were those who would advise me. And some of the advice was good, some not so good, and some just plain hurtful.
But one word God gave me helped me through. It was the fourth verse of Judges 14.
“His father and mother did not know that it was from the Lord, for he was seeking an opportunity against the Philistines. At that time the Philistines ruled over Israel.”

But the one thing that has stayed with me when reading throughout the whole Bible is seen in the following.
What if Samson had been a righteous man? What would his life had been like? In the end he accomplished what he was created to do, but did he die in shame or glory?
Sometimes in our lives we “get away with it”. We cheat while driving… speeding, not stopping at stop signs 🛑, and nothing bad happens.
But God is in control of it all. Ephesians 1:11
Herod is eaten by worms on the spot! And dies!
Assyria is allowed to conquer Israel, but woe to Assyria…
Here is where Assyria is prophetically spoken of in regards to Israel
He hardened Pharaoh’s heart.
And what about the one who betrayed Jesus? Judas Iscariot.
In Romans 9 Paul declares God’s sovereignty!
What about the verses that talk about “God’s elect”?
Saul is allowed to persecute the Christians for a time, but then the risen, glorified Lord Jesus Christ meets him, humbles him, and calls him into his service!
