On Hunting and Prayer

Dear Desmond;

So nice to talk to you this a.m.

“…a little less” than other occassions is very generous.

Lots going on in my heart & LIFE right now. I will write more often. I need to know what to pray for with you.

You got a rifle! I was told. This is a picture of prayer:

I received a rifle and went on my first hunt.

Alone in the woods, ran out of some supplies, began to worry but 1 Peter 5:7

And I saw my gun, my warm boots, my warm dry coat & pants… I was ready.

I knew how to point and shoot.

I brought the sweet ANIMAL DOWN, ANTLERS and all.

To be honest, I wept a little over this that had just died that I might live…

I skinned it, and divided it up, I smoked the meat & cured the hide, made some tools with the antlers & all the things one can do with hide to survive…

… I was sustained, I am sustained.

I’d heard about hunting

But now I KNOW.

& that is how prayer works, too!
