Whatever anyone says to you is secondary, and the word of God is primary.
What I mean is God’s word is The Authority.
If there is no scripture to support a thought, whether from your own heart or from outside of you, through others…
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
- Take for example the thought: “buy a Bible”
I can already hear in my heart scriptures that support reading the Bible, but also having MY OWN Bible. There’s something precious about this message to your heart from God. God’s word is dynamic. A prophet hears the word of God in his heart, and it is first for that prophet, and then for the ones he is called to speak that word to.
Jesus over and over again simply spoke the words that the Father told him to speak, and did the things the Father told him to do. I have many scriptures for you to consider as you ponder this. The Gospel of John records that over and over again.
I have been going to church since before I was born. I know my Bible – arguably – better than most. Yet of someone threw down for a competition, I’d say, you win! Before the contest begins! Because that’s not what I mean! What I’m getting at is each time I read the Bible it is implanted forever in my heart. Look at John 14:26 again. Like a computer hard drive, it’s there to be retrieved! The Holy Spirit brings it to you when called upon!
I have a message burning in my heart, and it is for me, and for you and for anyone who has ears to hear! Jesus said those words over and over again, and though I didn’t understand them, they were words which, “gave me pause”
My daughter is 30* and she actually is the one who explained “how I think” because she herself is very similar to me. Click <HERE> for that.
If you read THIS then you’ll better understand this>
- I saw a pastor, stand before his congregation.
- It was a small church of about maybe 300 people
- As he stood behind the podium, you could see in front of him, a sort of altar, or table
- He began to speak about the most dangerous version of the Bible
- As he mentioned different translations, for example, the King James version, the New International Version, The Message, The New American Standard… he paused and looked them each in the eye, for he knew this topic to be a contentious one, he saw the various emotions on their faces
- Then he said, if you have your own Bible, bring it up here and lay it on this altar, don’t worry we will let you have them back!
- So one and all did so, and when they’re sitting down again…
- He said, “Now! I want to tell you ‘bout the most dangerous version, he lay his hand on his chest, then he loaded his pointer finger… and he raised his hand up slowly… and to their surprise it landed on each of them as he said, “…it’s the one each of you think you remember
- He smiled.
- Then lovingly with a kind heart f Fatherly chuckle says, “whenever a scripture comes to mind, whether alone or especially with others, LOOK IT UP! Chapter and verse, in context… and listen to what the Holy Spirit is saying.
Hebrews 5:11
“We have much to say about this, but it is hard to make it clear to you because you no longer try to understand.” NIV
“Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.” KJV
“I have a lot more to say about this, but it is hard to get it across to you since you’ve picked up this bad habit of not listening.” MSG

Hebrews 12:18-24 NIV
18 You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; 19 to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them, 20 because they could not bear what was commanded: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” 21 The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.”
22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, 23 to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, 24 to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
Long Term Pondering
God is not in hurry, because his timing is perfect.
John 7:6, John 2:4…
Isaiah 2:22
In Bible school I was resisting the Holy Spirit. In order to “shut him up” I stopped reading my Bible and stopped praying. This went on for months perhaps. But then one night… I got worst head ache ever, very uncharacteristic for me. I tried everything, then finally (at about 2:00 am) I was living in the men’s half of the CPC Bible school dorm… I picked up my Bible, and went downstairs to the vacant and quiet multipurpose room, and sat beside the folded up ping-pong table. I didn’t waste a lotta time with what where… I began reading the book of Isaiah. When I got to,
Stop trusting in mere humans,
who have but a breath in their nostrils.
Why hold them in esteem?
My headache went away. I certainly began to understand, but I did not fully understand until 10 years later.
Hebrews 12:12-13 NIV
12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. 13 “Make level paths for your feet,” so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed. (Proverbs 4:26)
- This has been in and on my heart for so long… I don’t know how many years
- Coincidentally I have a weak left knee
- God has been healing my life
- God has recently been healing my left knee
- Part of that healing has been a need to be careful where I place my feet, the paths I choose… figuratively and literally
