On this blog my very first post was “It’s Over”
It was a moment of brilliance that I hardly feel I am to blame for it!
Maslow’s definition of true self expression which is separate from the need to get a response from others contains reference to spontaneity.
He also points out that the creativity is not as an actor playing to the audience, but as a person who is truly expressing what they have seen inside of themselves.
Arthur Schopenhauer refers to this in “Studies in Pessimism”
“Accordingly, any quality of mind or character that is genuine and lasting is originally unconscious; and it is only when it is unconsciously brought into play that it creates a profound impression. If any like quality is consciously exercised, it means that it had been worked up; it becomes intentional, and therefore matter of affectation, in other words, of deception
Arthur Schopenhauer
But the very definition of spontaneity is that’s it is unplanned… so the hope is that as I walk in this direction I will once again stumble upon another gem
