Stewart

He’s there somewhere : )

Stewart, if you’ve arrived here. I don’t yet know you all that well. We are not friends, you must know! I’m not doubtful that you will readily understand this!

For we are brothers in Christ Jesus. I’ve lots to interact with you about, if you are willing. Bonhoeffer in “Life Together” says we have no direct relationship with one another, it is all in and through Christ Jesus.

Some verses for you to ponder in this regard>

Romans 1:11-12

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong— that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.

Here’s another>

1 Thessalonians 4:9-10 JB Phillips

Next, as regards brotherly love, you don’t need any written instructions. God himself is teaching you to love each other, and you are already extending your love to all the Macedonians. Yet we urge you to have more and more of this love, and to make it your ambition to have no ambition!

So there’s two scriptures to ponder together for now.

I regard the other translations and paraphrases in similar reverence to when I hear from a brother, such as yourself, Stewart, either from the pulpit, or a blog, or some printed words given to me during a community meal 🙂

They are a gift of fellowship… something to think about…

Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Ephesians 5:21

imo – when two brothers/sisters speak to one another, there is a speaking into one another’s life. And that… I don’t mean to speak so simply to you, nor to appear “instructive”

I am honouring Christ, by including YOU in my life. And there’s lots of scripture about us loving one another ❤

Another avenue of discussion is Abraham Maslow’s words about

D-cognition and B-cognition
