The lady, her husband and their dog

I told her that story (this one)

I’ve been doing a route this Spring of 2021, in Richmond somewhere. And as my busy, full, not always blissful life zooms by I enjoy my daily drives through town picking people up, and dropping them off.

In this time of Covid19 I don’t even get to see their faces. I usually don’t ask their names. I decided long ago that I would respond “according to their demeanour”

Let me explain, do you have a minute? You see, I’ve been doing this job for over 30 years. At the beginning of time (it feels)

I wanted to be,

I thought I’d be,

A Pastor…

But that was my calling… that notion and inclination of my soul that God built in. I eventually realized that I get to be his comfort to any and all wherever I chance to be, his chance. As I read the Gospel of John, and I do so often, I see Jesus walking from here to there, from A to B, from Bethlehem’s manger to the cross, and all the thing’s the father called upon him to do in between. His walk was about obedience, listening obedience… take a look, and see it for yourself.

“But”, you ask, “what about that Lady, I thought we were talking about her demeanour?!?

Right right right…

Well, the truth is… her demeanour is such that I’d usually leave her type of passenger to their thoughts. But I’d done something out of the usual pattern one morning, and had to explain, and she didn’t seem uninterested so I dared to continue.

But now, let’s get back to me LOL

It was his green light for me! He gets those things done! He had to reel me in first… I’m on a tangent here…

I love with God’s love… and my job is about taking them safely from A to B. At work I’m not Laurence, I’m “the bus” and it’s ok. I’m in amongst the kelp.

Are you still there?

I randomly drew a picture on the computer one day, using MS Paint… it was a yellow submarine, under the ocean, kelp, and a little fish. I named it “In Amongst The Kelp

The submarine steals the lime light, but I’m that little fish. B C Transit (it’s an old story) is the submarine…
